Official update announcement and released feature summary.
Moonlighter 2 Hex, Poison, and Bomb Paths
How the officially described Hex, Poison, and Bomb combat paths work and when each path became available in Moonlighter 2.
Quick answer
Hex spreads damage-over-time effects through cursed enemies, Poison grows stronger with successive ticks but must be reapplied to maintain its short duration, and the version 1.0 Bomb Path marks enemies with charges that detonate after enough hits and damage nearby targets.
Hex Path
- Released with Greed & Glory
- Curses enemies and deals damage over time
- Can transfer effects to nearby targets
- Unlocks at Endless Vault Challenge 2 without an additional requirement
Poison Path
- Released with Blob-Life Balance
- Deals damage over time
- Each tick increases the next tick's damage
- Its short duration rewards repeated application
Bomb Path
- Officially announced for version 1.0
- Marks enemies with explosive charges
- Enough hits trigger a detonation
- The explosion damages nearby enemies and supports group control
Choosing a path
Hex favors spreading pressure, Poison favors maintaining one growing damage-over-time effect, and Bomb favors repeated hits that turn one target into area damage. Exact perk lists and balance values must be checked in the version being played.
